Chaand Aur Chaandni Part - II

Poore Chand ki Raat
.

Chand ko dekh ke kisi ke man mein kya khayal aate hain ye to nirbhar (depend) karta hai kisi shaksh ke maansik halat pe yani ki mental state of mind pe.

Raat jhuk aayi pehan ujla vasan
Pran tum kyun maun ho kuch gungunao
Chandani ke phool tum muskarao

Ek neeli jheel sa phaila achal
Aaj ye aakash hai kitna sajal
Chand jaise roop ka ubhara kanwal
Raat bhar is roop ka jadoo jagao
Pran tum kyun maun ho kuch gungunao

(vasan-cloth, pran-my love, maun-silent, sajal-watery, achal -stationary)

Sach hi to hai ki jab dil mein pyar ka beej ankurit ho jaye to is chand mein hi humein apne priyatam ki chavi nazar aane lagti hai. Phir to humare us beloved se juda har ek emotion humari har ek bhavna isi chand ke sahare prasphutit hone lagti hai.

Nahin samjhe aap!

Koi baat nahin meri baton se nahin to Wasi Shah sahab ki baat aap juroor manege. Apne mehboob se judi yadon ko sanjoye rakha tha inhone par jab ye chand samne aaya to dil ka dard chupa na sake keh diye sare gile shikwe ..
Aur kyun na kahein bhai aakhir ye chand hi to priyatam ke sath bitaye huye un yaadgaar lamhon ka raazdaar hai..

Main hooN tiraa khayaal hai, aur chaand raat hai
dil dard se niDhaal hai aur chaand raat hai

aankhoN mein chubh gayeeN tirii yaadoN ki kirchiaaN
kaandhoN pe gham ki shaal hai, aur chaand raat hai

dil toR ke khamosh nazzaaroN ka kia milaa?
shabnam ka ye sawaal hai, aur chaand raat hai

campus ki nehr per hai tiraa haath haath mein
mausam bhi laa.zavaal hai, aur chaand raat hai

her ik kalii ne auRh liaa, maatami libaas
her phool pur malaal hai, aur chaand raat hai

chalkaa sa paR rahaa hai wassi, veHshatoN ka rang
her cheez pe zawaal hai, aur chaand raat hai

Par ye bhi gaur karne ki baat hai ki kabhi to hum apni beeti huyi yadon ko chand ke sath bante hain to kabhi chandni raat ki khoobsurti mein is terah madhosh ho jate hain ki usmein hi apne hamsafar ko dekhne lagte hain jaise Sahir sahab yahan dekh rahe hain..

Yeh sonchta hoon main kab se gum sum
Ke jab ke mujhko yeh bhi khabar hai
Ke tum nahi ho, kaheen nahi ho,......
magar yeh dil hai ke kah raha hai
Ke tum yaheen ho, yaheen kaheen ho !

Par chand ko lekar sirf pyar mohabbat ki batein hon aisi bhi batein nahin iski aad mein ulahane bhi diye jate hain ha ha.
Lata ji ke gaye huye is nagme ki banagi lein
nayika ko shikayat hai ki dekho to ek ye chand hai jo bina kahe roz mujhse waqt pe milne aa jata hai aur ek tum ho ki. Waada kar ke bhi nahin aaye..

Chand phir nikla
magar tum na aaye..
Jala phir mera dil
karoon kya main haye..,

Aaj ke liye to bas itna hi.. Agli baar milenge to aayenge adhoore aur udaas chand ki kahani lekar! Tab tak ke liye izazat doston!

WOW aaj to poornima hey....koi kheer khilayega humein...lol

well..chanda mama as a mama hee acche lage humein aur isse humne oss nazar se nahi dekha kabhi ;) haan ek baat hey I always felt ke chaand kitna akela hey...kabhi walk per nikale apne mum papa ke saath tab...aisa lagta tha ke hamare aas paas kitnee chehal pehal hey aur oopar bechara chaand akela sa...& hence I always looked at chand as a beauty ...nothing much as jitna sochte ootna hee dukh hota...but many times I have caught chand in such a way ke its a full circle but very slight semi-curved circle..yaanek addhe se bhi kam chaand lekin jo circle complete hoti huyee nazar aati hey oos se ooski khubsurti mein chaar chaand aur lag jaate hein :D
Lekin kitnee ajeeb baat hey ke logon ka nazariya aur soch kitnee algh ho saktin hein...jahan chaand ko mehabooba samajha jaat hey waheen ...kabhi Jagu ne aisa bhi gaaya hey....
Chaand bhi dekha phul bhi dekha..jugnu taare koi nahi hey aisa..tera husn hey aisa;)

sun na hoto hamare radioblog mein hazir hoiyega :D

good one Manish...I was waiting ke part II kya hoga :) u amazed me!

Wow Manish. That's a nice picture. Yeah, looks like Purnima only. Hmmm...why Dawn wants to eat Kheer? Any tradition of eating Kheer during Purnima? Hmmm...my mouth is becoming watery - I don't know which one you call kheer because I've often found that what we call "Payesh" in Bengal is referred to as "Kheer" by other Indians. "Payesh" is also good, but I love "kheer" which is completely made with milk - by slowly cooking it over a low heat and adding sugar and saffron (optional) slowly. I've cooked it many times, but it's so time consuming to cook :(:(...

Ooops, from Chand aur Chandni to I'm going Kheer or Payesh.

I just wanted to congratulate for the image first. Now I'm going to read the post - one word by one word - :).

Hi Kl
kam se kam humare yahan to aisa tradition nahin hai!
So only Dawn can tell when she used to folow this yummy tradition.
Aur mujhe jis tradition ki yaad aati hai chand ko dekh ke pet pooja karne ki to uske bare mein sabko pata hoga!
khaskar un logon ko jo bolywood ki movies dekhte hain!
Remember Kajol in DDLJ
haan ji yaad aa gaya na
its karwachauth

Aapki kheer ka description padh kar to kisi ke munh mein pani aa jaye!

anyway shukriya aapke comments ka!
Do ask if u fail to get any of those hindi words!

Hi Dawn
aapne ardha vritakar chand ki baat ki hai aur chand ke akelepan ki jab ye part likhna suru kiya tha to chand ka akelapan zehan mein juroor ubhra tha par un khayalaton ko maine is post se door rakha ye sochte huye ki poornima man mein roomani khayalat hi lati hai.
chand se hum apne aap ko kaise relate karte hain it depends upon our mood at that instant of time
aakhir apne aks ka pratibimb hi to dekhna chahenge na apne chand mein!

ji jaggu ji ki donon ghazlein suni hain.
aur poore chand ki raat ho... to achchi bhi lagti hai mujhe
aapke radio blog ko try to bahut kiya par nateeza wahi yani
sifar :{

chand se judi udasi ko main reflect karoonga apne agle part mein!

Kya baat hai manish ji aapki ,aab tou chand ko hickiyaan hi ajein gi :D, u knw wht i read this post of urz the very first day u posted, but later when i tried to reply here , grrrrrrrrrrr dont ask ! i wrote the entire reply , and clicked preview and it was loading to appear on the page , but i waited and waited and waited but it never came :(

Chand sahab filwaqt tou hamray sir par sair kar rahy hain ,he never leaves me alone when i am at my PC ,i think he is jealous of me lolzzz :D

Okay jokes a part , sach ki taraf atay howay kaehin gay , chaandni ratein hamay buhaat pasand hain but its not tht k hamay chand mai kisi ki soraat nazar ati hai , Hahahahha :D u can say sometimes, when i m nervous for something like examzzz , tou hamay chand ho ya kiisi ki neeli neeli ankahien sab mai apni course books hi nazar ati hain :D , its all as u said
"DEPENDS ON THE STATE OF MIND" and i will add a bit tht "Depends on the sate of mind - provided tht the conditions are under control" :D ,Conditions say muraad yahan par mind ki conditions hain, such as the example i gave above abt the examz , this is the exhausted condition of mind ! ;)

Hamara jahan taak zati khayal hai , i believe, Moon is a symbol of sacrifice or in other words buhaat bara dil rakhnay walay hain ye chand sahab , as how it is alone up there, sacrificing its entire night for us ,so tht we r comfortable !

Chaand say akhsaar batain tou hoti hi rehti hain hamari, par kabhi kabhi , jaab asmaan par kuch sitroun say unki mehfil jaam jati hai tou vo sahi tarha say khul kar baaat nahi kar patay ,aesa lagta hai k bus hum hi hain k in say baat karna cahtay hain ,warna ye tou baray hi masroof rehnay walaoun mai say hain lolzzz :D
Phir pata hai hamay kya yaad ajata hai :)

baat karne mein jo mushkil ho tumhe mehfil mein
mai samajh jaoonga nazron se bataana mujh ko
vada utnaa hi karo jitana nibha sakte ho
Khwaab pura jo na ho woh na dikhana mujh ko
apne rishte ki nazaakat ka bharam rakh lena
main to aashiq hoon dewaana na bana mujh ko....

:D :D :D

and then suddenly i realize tht moon cannot talk and it never talks as well ,[ isliye itna jazbaati honay ki zaroorat nahi lolzzz ]but if we can see someone in it, then its inner person can surely talk to us ;)

Uh! my Hindi...after my sittings I've been able to finish reading your post..but, it's really good - I'm amazed that one can write such post, describe all those feelings and choosing the appropriate songs/poems on Moon. Ah! I wish you were here last winter on that amazing night - it snowed very heavily and the front of our house was carpeted with a smoot, 2/3 feet, deep layer of snow. Also, there were lots of tall trees in that area and they were without their leaves. It was a full moon night, the moon was just at a slanted position and everywhere was dark, but illuminated by the light of the moon. But the most amazing part was the shadows of the trees that were cast on that smooth, plain field of snow and the intricate, lacy designs that were created on the filed by the shadows of all those branches. It just created a web of magic, a web of spell...ah! I can't describe it properly. But, you were surely going to do a justice to that scene if you were here.

I usually understand the colloqual Hindi, and often times the sanskritized Hindi. But, I get no clue with the Urdu-ized (not sure of such a word, but you understand) Hindi. That's why I could never follow any of those Hindi movies from 50's, 60's depicting the Mughal period of India :-(. But, many thanks to your blog, I can understand it one day :):).

Hmmm...Dawn/Manish, so you all are feeling greedy, your mouths are watery...:):):)...ok, go and cook some kheer - very easy to make but very very time-consuming.

Now, Bengalees don't have the tradition of karwachauth, but often during full moon nights and especially if that night happens to fall on a Thursday, Bengalees will worship the Goddess Laxmi (of wealth) in special way. Depending from house to house, you usually cook and offer lots of things to Laxmi. Some of the items on the menu are: of course fruits, khichri (khidchi - don't know about the correct spelling), fried pumpkins, potatoes, brinjals, cauliflowers, etc, various types of sweets/sandesh, sweet youghurt (or what we call as Mishti Dahi), luchi (it's like Puris, but really soft and usually whitish in color), some sort of vegetable-curry dish, sinni (it's made with flour, honey, pure milk, ghee, lots of sweets, banana - all mixed together), payesh (pure milk and rice is boiled slowly over a low heat; slowly sugar and saffron is added. At the end, you add raisins and almond slives and sprinkle powdered cardomom over top of it) and of course kheer :):). Ummm...usually a locality would get immersed in all the smells coming from cooking all these in various houses; and, because these foods were offered during the pujas, so they will also acquire a very faint smell of incense, camphor, ghee, flowers, etc, etc,.....

Anybody hungry :):):)??? Manish-ji, you can go to any such pujas in India and have all these, but Dawn-ji won't have any such opportunities in Canada :):):):)...Yoooo...

Hi Gumnaam
bahut bahut shukriya ji itti pyari aur poetic batein likhne ka :)
pehle to upaarwale se hum yahi pray karenge ki aapke aas paas ki situation humesha under control banin rahein:) taki apne PC room se dikhta hua chand aapko humesha dili sukoon deta rahe.

aur aapki ye soch mujhe pasand aayi

i believe, Moon is a symbol of sacrifice or in other words buhaat bara dil rakhnay walay hain ye chand sahab , as how it is alone up there, sacrificing its entire night for us

aur chand chup chap humari batein sunta hai humari aap beeti bina bore huye sunta hai isliye to jyada achhcha lagta hai loz :) :)

waise jab aapko chand mein kitabon ke aalawa bhi kuch nazar aane lage to humein us gugtagoo ke bare mein batana na bhooliyega :) :)
